senior classes

Now all the halls are closed I am going to give it a try with some personal outdoor training, weather permitting – if you would like to join me there will be no charge and you will be welcome on your own responsibility – which includes “social distancing”.

There are a couple of possible areas at Diggswell Park which is the large grass park adjacent to the STMA in Shefford – one is next to the picnic tables which is convenient and another  a bit more remote/secluded –  if you look from the car park to the left across the field on the left is the picnic area and beyond is a line of trees – at the end is another nice spot.

I will be there on Sunday at 3.00pm and again on Monday at 2.30pm probably for an hour each time – although if I feel like it I may stay longer – or leave earlier if the weather determines! I am thinking of wearing layers and taking a flask for myself as it may well be cold.

I will just be doing usual exercises and form, much as I have experienced in the parks of China.

Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year from Shefford Tai Chi

We are delighted that the Shefford Community Hall is to receive a make over during October – as a consequence we will be moving our Tai Chi classes to Southill Village Hall on Sunday evenings and to Campton Village Hall on Monday afternoons for the duration of October.

I look forward to seeing students in Southill and Campton during October – and to returning to a sparkly updated new Shefford hall in November!

We have had some useful discussion in classes recently, with a lot of people expressing their interest in more senior training. I am therefore pleased to let you know that I will be extending the Hitchin class on Fridays to 2 ½ hours from May 27 in order to accommodate this.

At the same time I will slightly restructure the evening class formats as follows:

Friday at Hitchin Baptist Hall – 7.00 to 8.30 beginners @ £7 – with seniors 7.00 to 9.30  @ £10

Sunday at Shefford Community Hall – 6.30 to 8.00 beginners @ £7 – with seniors 6.30 to 9.00 @ £10

Wednesday at Luton Chaul End Community Hall – 8.00 to 9.00 @ £7 mixed class.

This will allow beginners to focus on the initial learning stages while seniors can practice in greater depth to their own capability alongside – then at the Friday and Sunday classes seniors can stay for a further hour of advanced training.

Those looking to further their interest would be welcome to come to any of the seminars scheduled this year or to arrange a private session.”
